Your Iphone As Your Computer’s Internet Connection
For a brief moment yesterday evening, if you had a 3G or rev 1 iPhone, you could have downloaded a new app called NetShare by NullApp in the Apple iPhone App store, and then used the app to “send” an internet connection to your computer. Unfortunately, 20 minutes after the app was made available in the store for $10, it was taken down.
VentureBeat postulates that perhaps the app was pulled due to lawsuit threats. The practice of using your iPhone connection as an internet connection is known as tethering and typically has been possible only using “jailbroken” iPhones. After all, AT&T doesn’t want you using your iPhone’s EDGE or 3G internet connection for your computer unless it can get you to ante up for it.
For anyone who was able to succesfully pull down Net Share, MacRumors says that Mac-Addict has posted a complete tutorial on how to use it.
