iPhone App Store downloaded – iPhone Works – Still Get iTunes Store Error

Follow-up from our previous post.

The good news: we’ve got the iPhone App Store on our phone….

iPhone App Store

The bad news: we still cannot access the iTunes Store (still getting the -4 error) and we had a mysterious message on our 1st generation iPhone: “SIM failure.” In addition, we still have not been able to sync so though we can access the store, all of our music, presets, bookmarks, etc. are currently not available.

We’re going to assume that this has to do with the ongoing, Day 1 problems Apple is having to meet the crushing demand of new iPhone users and old iPhone users looking for the 2.0 firmware upgrade.

We look foward to syncing whenever Apple lets us.

Update at 2:07 p.m. EDT:
we reached the store! Phone is back from the dead…

iPhone is back from the dead

But, the iPhone needs a “restore” which is currently about 30% of the way through. This process has taken 5 hours so far. Hard day.

Update at 2:38 p.m. EDT:
Restore complete. iPhone 2.0 is here!

Thoughts?

Was the new Iphone 2.0 firmware worth the hassle of the initial installation?
