East Village of NYC Cold? Try Chicago

3 Degrees in Chicago

East Village Cold? Try Chicago

One of the pleasures of my iPhone is quickly looking at the weather of favorite hot spots – or cold spots, as the case may be.

And this time the case in question is Chicago.

No doubt, I prefer the East Village of New York City to be warmer than it is right now – say late May and definitely June. According to my iPhone, it’s 36 degrees outside and after a brief tour of the hood, I can confirm that it felt like 36 degrees – cold enough to keep me moving from the Post Office on 4th avenue and 11th Street to Starbucks on 2nd Avenue and 9th streets and home again.

But, after breezing through my iPhone weather pre-sets, I quickly understood how positively balmy the weather here in New York is. Thank you, Atlantic Ocean.

Back in the midwestern tundra of the Chicago area, the temps have gone down to baseball score levels. Three. Don’t worry, Chicagoans. It’s supposed to get all the way up to 10 degrees tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in the E.V., a tropical 37 awaits. Where are my crocs
